The Flip Book Tour!

The Flip By: Michael Phillip Cash

cover3d_0.74734700 1470843728

Julie and Brad Evans are house flippers. They buy low, clean out the old occupants' junk, and try to make a profit. Enter Hemmings House on Bedlam Street in scenic Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. Too good a deal to pass up, but with an ominous secret. The old Victorian Mansion has dwellers that do not want to be dispossessed. As the house reveals it's past, will the couple's marriage survive The Flip? From Publisher's Weekly- The Flip Michael Phillip Cash (Stillwell) again succeeds in setting an engaging supernatural thriller in the world of Long Island real estate, though he’s stronger at depicting human relationships than he is at generating scares. Julie and Brad Evans have hinged their hopes of financial security on house flipping, a work-intensive strategy that offers them few opportunities for relaxation. Brad has misgivings about their latest acquisition, a creepy Victorian mansion, ominously situated on Bedlam Street in Cold Spring Harbor. Those feelings are validated when he’s victimized by Tessa, a voracious female ghost with very carnal appetites. Cash is effective at creating his version of the afterlife, where ghosts like Tessa exist in fear of more powerful entities known as the Sentinels. His best work comes, however, in his plausible portrayal of a marriage under stress from the need to hustle to stay solvent. (BookLife)

My Review:

I am a huge granola fan so I was so happy to be able to try out this new brand. I have very sensitive teeth so as much as I love granola I have to be careful on how hard it is. Too hard and I can't chew it. So I was very excited that when I took my first bite it was easy peasy and delicious! It didn't hurt my teeth but at the same time it wasn't so soft that you didn't get that amazing crunch (which I LOVE). And did I mention just how yummy it was?! It was full of flavor, which is always a plus. I hate when I eat granola and it has a dry after taste. Luckliy I didn't have to worry about that this time! I would really recommend everyone to try out this brand the first chance you can get!

Product review: The biggest story DVD and CD

Product name:

The biggest story DVD & cd

About Product:
[Taken from website]

Once upon a time there lived a man and a woman. They were the happiest people on the planet.

True, they were the only people on the planet, but they were still terrifically happy.

Unfortunately, things didn’t stay happy and wonderful for long . . .

The Bible is full of exciting stories that fill children with awe and wonder. But kids need to know how all those classic stories connect to Scripture’s overarching message about God’s glorious plan to redeem his rebellious people.

In The Biggest Story, Kevin DeYoung—a best-selling author and father of six—leads kids and parents alike on an exciting journey through the Bible, connecting the dots from the garden of Eden to Christ's death on the cross to the new heaven and new earth.

With powerful illustrations by award-winning artist Don Clark, this imaginative retelling of the Bible’s core message—how the Snake Crusher brings us back to the garden—will draw children into the biblical story, teaching them that God's promises are even bigger and better than we think.

About the Author

Kevin DeYoung (MDiv, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary) is the senior pastor at University Reformed Church (PCA) in East Lansing, Michigan. He serves as a council member at the Gospel Coalition and blogs at DeYoung, Restless, and Reformed. He serves as Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary and is a PhD candidate at the University of Leicester. He is the author of several books, including Just Do SomethingCrazy Busy, and The Biggest Story. Kevin and his wife, Trisha, have seven children.

Don Clark is an artist and the cofounder of Invisible Creature, a widely respected and award-winning design studio based in Seattle, Washington. He has worked with clients such as Target, LEGO, WIRED magazine, Nike, Adobe, XBox, The New York Times, and more. Don lives with his wife and their three children on a ranch thirty minutes southeast of Seattle.

My Review:

I am not a huge religious person but I really enjoyed how Kevin DeYoung introduced the bible in a way kids would understand and be interested in. The illustrations were very well done and with the all the vibrant colors it definitely catches the eyes of the kids. I was definitely impressed with how the DVD came out. It made learning about the bible appealing to the kids.

I was given this DVD & CD for free in exchange for my most honest review.
